Research Fellow at the Department of Management and Production Engineering of Politecnico di Torino (DIGEP). Federico holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Management of Technology from the University of Bergamo (2011). He got his degree in Industrial Engineering at Politecnico di Torino (2004) and, after some working experiences in resources planning software companies, he joined the Innovation Studies group (2006).
His main research topics focus on Economics of IPRs and in particular on patent data analyses, such as international patent activities, patent transactions and valuation. He is involved in several research projects aiming at improving the application of patent data intelligence techniques, ranging from company’s portfolio positioning to industry-level landscapes including the use of semantics.
Some of the projects and research activities: Universities in the Framework Programmes (European Commission), IP EuropAware (CIP programme), PatQual (European Commission), IP-L@b (Finmeccanica Spa), collaborations with the European Patent Office and the Chamber of Commerce of Torino.
